Tile Calculator
Work out how many floor or wall tiles you need for a rectangular room. Add wastage for cuts and breakages, and optionally estimate boxes or total cost.
Measurements
Enter tiles per box above to price by box instead of per tile.
How this is calculated
Room area = room length × room width (converted to square metres internally).
Tiles needed = room area ÷ tile area, rounded up, then multiplied by (1 + wastage ÷ 100).
Boxes = tiles needed ÷ tiles per box, rounded up (when box size is provided).
Cost = tiles needed × price per tile, or boxes needed × price per box when you price by box.
A default 10% wastage is common for straight layouts; use 12–15% for diagonal or intricate patterns.
